Futures trading journal

A journal that knows what a tick is worth.

Four ticks on MES is $5. Four ticks on ES is $50. Most journals apply one multiplier to everything and quietly mis-state your entire record. SureInsight holds the real contract specification for each product — and syncs Tradovate automatically.

Contract specifications, not assumptions

Every P&L figure in a futures journal rests on one number: what one tick of that contract is worth. Get it wrong and the win rate still looks fine while the money is completely wrong. These are held per product, micros included.

Standard CME, NYMEX and COMEX specifications. Anything we do not hold is learned from your own filled trades rather than guessed.

Built around how funded accounts are actually judged

A prop evaluation is not scored on win rate. It is scored on your equity curve against a trailing or end-of-day drawdown line, and on whether you took consistent size. Those are the numbers on the dashboard.

  • Equity curve and peak balance, which is what a trailing drawdown tracks
  • Daily result, for firms measuring an end-of-day loss limit
  • Position size per trade, so inconsistency is visible before it fails you
  • Every account kept separate — evaluation, funded and personal

What this is not

SureInsight is a record of trades you have already taken. It is not a live risk gate and it will not block an order or stop you breaching a limit — your platform and your firm's rules do that. Read it as the honest account of what happened, which is what a journal is for.

Getting the trades in

Syncs automatically

Tradovate. Connect once and filled round-trips arrive on their own, aggregated correctly rather than as a pile of individual fills.

Imports from a file

NinjaTrader, Rithmic, Quantower, Sierra Chart, Tradestation, ATAS, CQG and more — plus a generic CSV path with a column mapper for anything unrecognised.

Questions futures traders ask

Does it know the tick value for ES, NQ and CL?

Yes. Contract multipliers are held for the common CME, NYMEX and COMEX products, including the micro contracts, so a 4-tick move on MES is not priced as a 4-tick move on ES.

Which futures brokers sync automatically?

Tradovate syncs automatically. NinjaTrader, Rithmic, Quantower, Sierra Chart, Tradestation and others import from their own export files, and a generic CSV path covers anything unlisted.

Can it track prop firm drawdown rules?

It tracks your equity curve, peak balance and daily result, which is what trailing and end-of-day drawdown rules are measured against. It is a record of what you did, not a live risk gate — it will not stop a trade.

Does it separate regular and overnight session trades?

Yes. Trades carry their real execution timestamp, so results can be read by hour and by session rather than lumped into a single day.
